CES’ top planner to speak at Korea MICE Expo

Consumer Electronics Show vice president Karen Chupka to tell how world’s most influential trade event successfully transitioned to virtual conference and exhibition

AN ASSOCIATION professional who steers the world’s most high-profile  consumer electronics event will deliver the opening keynote at Korea MICE Expo.

Karen Chupka, executive vice president of CES, the annual show in Las Vegas owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association, will speak on how the transition of the Consumer Electronics Show to a virtual exhibition and conference provides value as a new experience.

Chupka oversees the sales, marketing, conferences, operations and management of CTA’s events including its influential trade shows, CES and CES Asia. She has been with the Consumer Technology Association, which represents some 2,500 US companies, for more than 30 years after starting her career with the National Association of Manufacturers.

Songdo Convensia

Korea MICE Expo returns this year as a hybrid event for the first time, held offline at Songdo Convensia, Incheon with a corresponding virtual event from November 24-27.

The event will provide a virtual gathering space for an expected 3,000 expected attendees and 300 local service providers that will be exhibiting, including convention bureaus, unique venues, travel agencies and PCOs.

Participants can expect to engage in 1:1 video business consultation with global buyers and gain access to exclusive virtual content available through a new online platform.

Under the theme ‘Driving Innovation through Challenges’, this year’s KME will take a look at challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic and suggest creative solutions for implementing the latest IT and meeting technology to welcome a new digital era of the MICE industry.

KME will kick-off on November 24 with a live-streamed opening ceremony with the official program continuing over three days with B2B meetings, speaker presentations, exhibitions and more.

New this year are live demonstrations of Korea’s latest MICE industry technology at the Meeting Technology Showcase and start-ups exhibiting at the Smart Tech Exhibition Zone.

KME’s CVB Showcase will also present updates from Korea’s regional cities with details about new attractions and MICE infrastructure.
